QUESTIONS:
Will this function on a motorcycle? What are the specifications of the cable drive for this speedometer? Will it accept Smith speedometer cable.
Hi,
This speedometer is not designed for motorcycle use, which requires special water, UV light, and vibration resistance. The cable fitting is 5/8-18 thread, and .104" square drive. We don't have data on Smiths cables.
Thanks,
Jim

Is this the correct speedometer for a 1966 volkswagen beetle?
Hi,
This mechanical speedometer can certainly work in your Beetle. You will likely need a correct cable and ratio adaptation. Speedometer Service can help you with this. You may contact them at 414-463-6660.
Thanks,

How do I get the mileage properly set to one of the gauges, working on a custom build and I want the car to keep the proper mileage once it is finished.
Thank you for your inquiry. While we can never remove miles from an odometer, we can add miles to the odometer on your Auto Meter speedometer to match actual miles on the vehicle. Please contact our Tech Support line for details of this process: 866-248-6357.

Is the water resistant for motorcycle use?
Thank you for your question. No, this gauge is not water resistant. Only our marine gauges and our ProCycle gauges are water resistant.

what does the electrical sending unit hoop-up to? Is 3 1/8 inside diameter?
Thank you for your question. 3-1/8" Is the size of the hole the gauge will fit in. This is a mechanical speedometer and it will not connect to an electric sending unit. It will work off a mechanical speedometer cable.

Do you offer this speedometer with white face ?
Thank you for your question. We do not have an antique beige gauge with a white face, but the white version would be from the Arctic White series, part #1396.
