Senior Test Engineer

SUMMARY 

Responsibilities include developing computer based test software, designing control circuits, selection of test equipment, participating in electrical design reviews with a focus on reliability, testability, and manufacturability, and assembly of test fixtures.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Design/develop test software and test systems/fixtures that fully evaluate all parameters of the Auto Meter instrument under test compared to established tolerances for each unit parameter.  The test software must create an electronic device history folder by serial number, where applicable, and provide the capability to retrieve test data by serial number or date of test.   
  2. Utilize data from computer based testing to provide feedback to design engineering in terms of areas for design improvement and evaluation of tolerances.
  3. Utilize test data for predictive maintenance to identify product, process, and equipment trends to take corrective action prior to failure.
  4. Analyze any failures from in house testing and any field failures to determine the root cause of failure and provide corrective action recommendations.
  5. Support the company productivity improvement goals and initiatives through continuous improvement of test programs/processes/fixtures.  Participates in kaizen events and other improvement initiatives.
  6. Develop documentation for test processes in support of IATF 16949.    
  7. Supervise pilot runs for new products and procedures; oversee and make sure all steps are being followed; collect and analyze test data.
  8. Direct and coordinate fabrication and installation activities to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design specifications and customer satisfaction.
  9. Evaluate testing procedures for accuracy and safe practices.
  10. Provide engineering support to manufacturing.
  11. Interact with other departments/personnel in product/test related issues.
  12. Estimate project costs for test system/fixture fabrication.
  13. Perform design reviews focusing on electronic reliability, testability, and manufacturability.
  14. Support achievement of Quality Objectives.
  15. Support maintenance in the repair of test systems/fixtures.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide training for operations personnel. Provide work direction to those in the support functions of their core responsibilities (model shop, production technician, etc.).

QUALIFICATIONS

BS and MS in Electrical or Software Engineering required.

At least one year experience in industrial engineering or similar position.

Must be proficient in writing code in programming languages such as C++.   

Must be able to analyze electrical circuit design schematics.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public. Excellent communication skills required.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to comprehend and apply principles of advanced calculus, modern algebra and advanced statistical theory.  Ability to work with concepts such as limits, rings, quadratic and differential equations and proofs of theorems.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.  Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.) in its most difficult phases.  Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables. Must be a motivated self-starter.

WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.  While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, extreme heat and risk of electrical shock.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Stockroom/Receiving Group Leader

Key Responsibilities and scope of work include:

  • Lead and work alongside the stockroom/receiving staff.
  • Enter inventory transactions in our ERP system.
  • Ensure achievement of inventory accuracy objectives and daily cycle counting.
  • Oversee timely and accurate movement of material to your internal and external customers, including production, external suppliers, and shipping.

More About You:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience required leading stockroom and receiving functions.
  • Proficient in various inventory transactions in an ERP based system.
  • Knowledge of cycle counting and inventory count resolution.
  • Forklift certification required.

Inside Sales Representative

The Inside Sales Representative will be responsible for sourcing new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up and outbound cold calls and emails. This position will also assist with qualifying prospective customers, identifying opportunities that warrant a direct meeting with Auto Meter Field Sales staff, and performing administrative sales support activities. Ideal candidate must be proficient in developing positive customer relationships. Position also requires attending trade shows and 10% travel.

A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred. Candidate must be self-motivated with excellent communication skills, high integrity, proficiency in spreadsheet analysis, and a proven track record of growing sales through positive relationships.
