Electrical Engineer

Key responsibilities and scope of work include:

  • Create circuit designs, schematics, bill of materials, and circuit layout.
  • Develop embedded firmware on ARM Processors (primarily Cortex-M).
  • Develop serial and wireless communication protocols.
  • Create technical specifications from functional requirements.
  • Collaborate and take ownership with other developers to improve software and hardware quality.
  • Collect and process sensor data for use in instrumentation and control systems.
  • Lead application engineering effort from planning architecture to execution and delivery.
  • Design and implement scalable software architectures for hardware platforms.

Position Requirements:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent (EE) degree.
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience, which includes developing on embedded ARM systems, implementation/utilization of debug tools, use of software version control in a team.
  • Fluency in C/C++/Java and other object oriented programming languages and Fluency in schematic capture software and PCB layout software.
  • Working knowledge of embedded software, operating systems, interrupt handling and communication drivers.
  • Experience with vehicle OBDII/CAN Technology (is a plus) and experience with embedded ARM RTOS (is a plus).
  • Windows software development (is a plus)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and are self-motivated with a strong desire to learn.

Busy manufacturer seeks experienced Buyer/Planner to coordinate the planning and procurement of Injection Molded components, Electro Mechanical devices and corrugated. Bachelor’s Degree in Business or a technically related field. 3-5 years exp. in Purchasing /Supply Chain in a high-volume manufacturing environment is required. Experience with International suppliers is required. Competence with MS Office software and ERP System is required. Strong interpersonal, problem-solving skills required. Senior E-commerce/Technical Marketing Specialist

In this role, you will have the opportunity to grow your e-commerce and technical marketing skills with one of the leading companies in the direct to consumer performance automotive aftermarket. You will have direct responsibility for managing and optimizing multiple company owned e-commerce sites. You will be a key part of our marketing team and will interface with multiple internal teams (sales, customer service, marketing, and engineering) as well external agencies to identify and execute growth and improvement initiatives.

You will have the freedom to be creative and to make a difference while having a strong support network.

While there is a strong preference for this position to be located in our far western suburban Chicago Headquarters (Sycamore, IL) full consideration will be given to remote applications provide that you are willing and able to travel as needed.

Who We Are

Auto Meter is a dynamic and growing company that has established a leadership position in two business segments. Our instrumentation business is the undisputed leader in performance instrumentation solutions for the global specialty automotive aftermarket. Our test equipment business is the technology leader in the rapidly growing electronic system diagnostic and battery maintenance market, with a key focus on national retailers and fleet operators. We go to market under seven different brands, and have a growing direct-to-consumer/ecommerce presence as well as a strong distribution presence in all key channels.

In this role, you will:

  • Run the day-to-day operations of the online store on Magento, including maintenance of our product catalog and data, various landing pages, marketing content, site / category navigation and more.
  • Leverage e-commerce and digital marketing principles, analytics, and general business expertise to identify and execute on opportunities to improve conversion, product page views, and cross / up-sell, driving incremental engagement and sales.
  • Own and manage website KPIs including website Sales, Traffic, Conversion, AOV, ROAS, Acquisition, Bounce Rate, etc.
  • Work with our third-party design / development agency to troubleshoot any site issues, give guidance on requirements for new site features or projects, and participate in quality assurance review and testing of features prior to release.
  • Work closely with our third-party Digital Marketing agency to communicate ongoing initiatives, promotions, new releases, optimize landing pages, provide paid search feedback, create site content for paid media campaigns and SEO.
  • Work closely with our Social / Marketing team to plan and improve product content and brand or product storytelling. Measure the campaign effectiveness for actionable future initiatives.
  • Partner with Marketing to plan, organize, build and capture segmented audiences that can be reached via email, SMS, and social campaigns.
  • Staying current on emerging e-commerce technologies with the goal of applying these technologies to current and future projects.

Experience we’re looking for:

  • BA/BS degree in Marketing, Business, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience managing an e-commerce website on Magento or similar e-commerce platform.
  • Proven leadership at driving marketing / business KPIs for a consumer website.
  • Hands on experience with Google tools including: Analytics, AdWords, Merchant, Tag Manager
  • Experience driving social marketing campaigns and best practices utilizing each platform including Facebook / Instagram, Twitter, YouTube.
  • Knowledge of site / predictive search products and merchandising strategies.
  • Experience managing, manipulating, and updating product data within an e-commerce platform via import / export tools.
  • Familiarity and experience with e-mail marketing platforms such as MailChimp (or similar).
  • Expert abilities with MS Office (Excel / Word / Power Point) and/or Google (Docs / Sheets / Slides). Data management is king with this role.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills – being bilingual would be a big plus.
  • A team player who takes pride in their work and in helping other succeed.
