Questions

Hello Im wanting to install this in a 1952 chevy truck and use the autometer gps interface will this work for my application.

Asked by: john1967
Hi John, thank you for the question. Yes, the GPS Interface and any AutoMeter electronic programmable speedometer will be compatible with your truck. 12 volts would be the only requirement. However, our 5" Speedometer fits into a 4-5/8" diameter hole. If you're looking to fit this into the existing hole in your '52 dash, you'll need something like our direct fit insert: https://www.autometer.com/direct-fit-dash-insert-chevy-truck-47-53-2-gauge-billet.html

I have installed a Rostra universal cruise control. I am using the magnetic VSS generator (driveshaft) signal generator). Can this signal be shared with the speedometer?

Asked by: DaveK
Hi Dave, thank you for the question. Yes, our speedometer will trigger and operate off your VSS. There is a slight possibility that either our speedometer or your cruise could be affected by that shared "weaker" signal, but no damage would ever come to our speedometer. It would simply drop off speed or not operate.

is model 1889 5" speedometer bezel chrome or gold?

Asked by: DaveK
Hi Dave, thank you so much for contacting us. The 1889 Speedometer has a chrome bezel. We could however do a special order with a gold bezel to match up with the Golden Oldies series if that's the direction you wanted to go. Hope this helps!

i need a speedometer that is 5 inches in diameter for the existing hole in my 1937 cadillac dash. the cadillac bezel is designed to protrude through the hole and be larger on the back side. i dont have any area on the face for the bezel to lap over

Asked by: ron pair
Hi Ron, thank you for the question. Our instruments have a larger bezel and smaller case and are designed to mount from the front. The 5" have a 5" bezel O.D. and fit into a 4-5/8" diameter hole.

Would you be able to make the antique speedo so that zero is on the lower right and the speedo goes in reverse? This is for a Cobra?

Asked by: Rich Z
Hi Rich, thank you so much for the question. Unfortunately, we would not be able to create a special version, but we do offer a 4" Cobra replica speedometer in both mechanical (model 201005) and electronic (model 201013).
