DESCRIPTION:
Monitoring the temperature of the air going into your engine is critical to safely extracting the most power from your engine, especially when dealing with forced induction. Cool, dense air will always make more power and contribute to less detonation. AutoMeter’s dual channel air temp gauge allows you to monitor the air temp before and after the intercooler, as well as allowing you to monitor the difference in temps. This lets you see if your intercooler is up to the task and ensuring you're not causing unnecessary harm. Configurable warning set points and peak recall provide crucial feedback that allows you to keep your eyes on the road. AutoMeter’s patented Pro-Control output enables you to set up the ground-controlled output to control intercooler sprayers or other devices.
Feature Points
- Monitors both upstream and downstream intake air temperature to accurately measure intake tract/intercooler efficiency
- Displays both pre and post intercooler as well as temperature difference
- Configurable Pro-Control output allows gauge to control exterior auxiliary devices based on downstream temperature (intercooler sprayer, water/meth, etc
- User programmable warning functi
- Peak recall/memory
- Display in Fahrenheit or Celsiu
- Includes two 3/8” NPT threaded air temp sensors, 12ft long wire harness, mounting hardware, and detailed installation instructions
- 12 and 16 volt compatible, works with nearly every street car or race car electrical system
- Includes Sending Unit: 2256
- Wire Harness: Yes
- 2230

QUESTIONS:
will the air temp gauge work with a supercharged big block with carb it would be reading air-fuel with some meth injection, not just straight air
This will still work as it's just reading the temperature of the air.

My gauge always defaults to Pre on startup, even though the book says Pst should be default. I’d like it to display Pst on power up. Any hints what may be the issue? Firmware change or power? Other settings are stored per normal operation when set

Hi I am wondering if there is a way to stop the gauge from resetting the display to pre intercooler, for the bar and normal display. It doesn't change any of the other setting just the display becomes pre for both.
Thank you for your inquiry. Please call our Technical Support line at 866-248-6357 for help with the settings on this gauge.

Does Autometer still offer an air temp gauge that has the usual pointer instead of a digital readout? I have seen them on other vehicles but am unable to find them on this site.
Thank you for your question. We only have digital air temp gauges available. We no longer have analog versions.

Is the face and bezel water resistant?
Thank you for your question. No, the only gauges we offer that are water resistant are our Marine gauges, our Pro-Cycle gauges, and our Extreme Environment gauges.

Is this gauge a type K or J for the sender? And is there a cylinder head temp option sender kit for this gauge
Thank you for the question. The 4358 uses a thermistor type sensor that is designed for air temperature only. It changes resistance based on the temperature reading. It's not designed for surface temperature, like a cylinder head. For that we'd recommend our model 4336.
