Is the 5" the size of the cut out hole needed ?

Thank you for your question. No, for almost all our gauge sizes the size we list is the hole size, the only except is 5". Our 5" gauges fit in 4-5/8" holes, they have a dial of of 4-15/16"

Do you have available a six inch exstention manual cable for this #5154 speedometer to reach 6" front fork exstention on 1973 yamaha xs650?

Asked by: Byron49
Hi Byron, thank you for the question. We actually do not offer any cables. Our speedometers feature a 5/8-18 threaded input on the back which is commonly available as an aftermarket cable option.

How do you calibrate gauge for different diameter tires?

Asked by: Donitinh2o
Thank you for the question. While our electronic speedometers are fully programmable and can be calibrated, our mechanical speedometers are a set 1:1 ratio or 1,000 RPM on the cable = 60 MPH on the speedometer. Any calibration would have to be done by changing the speedometer drive gear in the transmission.

How can I adapt the stock speedo cable from a 1978 Chevy Pick up to this gauge?

Asked by: Runs10
Hi there, thank you so much for the question. You most likely have a clip on/push on cable to your original speedometer. While there are adapters on market, we would recommend a complete replacement cable that would adapt to your Chevy, which should be 7/8-18 to a threaded speedometer input, which is 5/8-18. This is a fairly common cable that should be available from most auto parts stores or if you have a speedometer shop in your area.

what is the depth of the 5154 gauge...and exact diameter ..

Asked by: gweedoh
Thank you so much for the question. The total depth from the back of the bezel to the end of the mechanical cable output is 3-1/2". However, due to the cable requirement, this would require several more inches to accommodate a speedometer cable. Approximately 6" total to insure full clearance for a cable. The 5154 will mount into 4-5/8" diameter hole, but the exact diameter of the case is 4.592". The bezel diameter is 4-7/8".
