I installed a new z series gauge 0-30 ohms in my 1964 Chevy C 10 pick up hooked it up to existing wiring original gauge had no problems. today the gauge was showing a little under half a tank and I ran out of gas. what should I be looking for?Hi Danny, thank you so much for contacting us. The first thing I'd look at is what the resistance is on the wire coming from the sending unit with the tank empty (or close to empty). It sounds to me like the gauge was reading a little bit of extra resistance, making it appear that you had more fuel than you did. With only 30 ohms total resistance in the scale, older wires could definitely throw off the reading and make it appear higher than it is. You may also want to look at how well the sending unit itself is grounded as that could also cause an erroneous high reading. I'd start there and recommend contacting our tech team if you've got further questions. You can reach us M-F, 8am - 5pm CST at 866.248.6357. Do you sell capacitance sender for this meter? If so, what lengths/sizes?Hi Cire, thank you for the question. We do not offer any capacitance senders. Only this float arm style that works with a 240-33 ohm gauge: https://www.autometer.com/universal-fuel-level-sender-240-e-33-f.htmlDate published: 2018-01-10
