QUESTIONS:

Hi, I want to install this on my 3.3L Inline-6 Turbo Diesel I just have two questions. One: How long is the probe? Two: Is the probe threaded?

Asked by: David65
Thank you for your question. This probe measures approximately 2.5 inches from the tip of the probe to the top of the compression nut. A picture of the probe can be found at: https://www.autometer.com/street-series-probe-kit.html

I'm trying to install this on a rear engine vehicle. The lead is not long enough. Do you sell additional leads that are able to avoid the thermocouple issue of extending the lead? Thank you

Asked by: Adam S
Hi Adam, You will need this 5257 Extension Harness Kit: https://www.autometer.com/module-wiring-extension-for-stepper-motor-incandescent-pyrometer-gauges.html Thanks, Jim

I recently purchased a used pyrometer, 2654, and it came with nothing. I have a K-type probe, it doesn't have terminals on the ends. Can I just add ring terminals to it to connect the probe to the gauge?

Asked by: MKIV Tuner
Thank you for your inquiry. Type K thermocouple wire is unique, and standard crimping will result in an inaccurate gauge. Please call our Tech Support Team for assistance at 866-248-6357.

is there a way to buy just the gauge i have a probe kit already and need only the gauge

Asked by: gdg11
Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, we do not sell the gauge head by itself. If you have one that is not working, you can certainly send it in to us for service. Here is a form for doing so: https://www.autometer.com/media/Service_Form.pdf

I have this gauge in my 1997 PSD 7.3, I installed it in 2004 #AM-2654Z, I have a draw on my batteries and when I disconnected the probe wire the draw stopped. Gauge or prob?  Key off and still a draw but never had a problem before?

I have this EGT gauge (# 2654) in my truck. Lately the needle seems to be all over the place. I've check the resistance on the probe and I think that's the issue (very low resistance- 1.8ohm at ambient temp). What is the replacement probe for this?

Asked by: Vetts
Thank you for your question. The replacement kit would be a part #5249 which comes with the probe and wiring. If you need only the replacement probe, the correct part number is #P12709.

I'm wanting to buy a 1600 degree pyrometer, 0-60 psi boost gauge, and a 0-100 psi fuel pressure gauge. Do these gauges come with the necessary equipment to have the gauges give me a reading? Or do I need to purchase more equipment?

Asked by: Jacob
Hi Jacob, thank you so much for contacting us. For a typical installation, everything you'll need would be included with those three gauges. Sometimes certain vehicles can require different adapters, but by and large, I wouldn't expect any significant additional components to be necessary. If you'd like advice on your specific vehicle, please feel free to give us a ring at 866.248.6356, hit the Chat link at the top of the page or email us here: http://www.autometer.com/resources/index/ask_a_question Hope this helps!
