SENSOR, OIL PRESSURE, 0-100 PSI, 1/8" NPT MALE, FOR SHORT SWEEP ELEC. is rated out of 5 by 2.Rated 5 out of 5 by Jason from Great parts Easy install, everything works! Happy I replaced the old ones due to false readings.Date published: 2018-01-02Rated 5 out of 5 by ARR1950 from 0 TO 100 POUNDS PRESSURE TRANSDUCER I HAVE USED AUTO METER FOR ALMOST 19 YEARS AND LIKE THEIR PRODUCTS. THERE SHOULD BE A NOTE ON INSTALLATION THT THE SENDING UNIT NEEDS TO BE INSTALLED WITH ELECTRICAL CONNECTION UP SO FLUID CONNECTION IS DOWN. THE HOUSING SEAL TO THE UNIT IS NOT LIQUID TIGHT. SINCE MINE IS UPSIDE DOWN I SEALED THE JOINT WITH A SEALANT SO HOPEFULLY IT WILL NOT ALLOW FLUIDS TO ENTER THE MODULE.Date published: 2018-01-21
Hi, would you have the ohms readings for this switch? I'm looking for a 100 psi with similar spec: 0 psi - 116.2 ohms 30 psi - 49.5 ohms 60 psi - 31.3 ohms 90 psi - 17 ohmsThank you for your question. Unfortunately, we do not have a sensor that closely matches those specifications.Date published: 2019-01-03
Can I connect 2 gauges to one sensor? I need to run 2 oil psi gauges in my truck. Thank you!Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, you cannot have two gauges simultaneously connected to the same sensor. It will skew the readings on both the gauges and you will not be able to accurately display the data.Date published: 2018-12-14
is this the sender for gauge 5821-00406?Thank you for your question. 5821-00406 is mechanical and uses nylon tubing rather than a sending unit and wires. 5827-00406 is the short sweep electric version of this gauge and it does use this sending unit 2242.Date published: 2018-11-30
hi would like to know if this will work on 1803 gauge set thanksThank you for your question. Yes, this is the sending unit that goes with that quad gauge. Please note, 1803 will include this sending unit.Date published: 2018-11-15
Does this sender convert oil pressure to an electrical signal such that no oil is in the cabin?Hi James, thank you for the question. Yes, that is correct. The sender is actually a resistance based sender that changes resistance with pressure. Keep in mind, however, this particular sender is designed for our short sweep AutoMeter gauges only and has a range of approximately 250-40 ohms.Date published: 2018-08-13
Hello, Will this sender unit still work the OEM"warning light"? Or just send the pressure indication to the gauge? If it doesn't, do you have a pressure sending unit that does both? I have a 63 Lincoln Continental w/430 MEL engine. Thank youThank you so much for contacting us. Our sending units are designed to only supply signal to the gauge it is included with. We unfortunately do not offer a sender that will control both the gauge and your factory warning light. You could however use a tee fitting and also install one of these switches which will complete a ground circuit then measured pressure drops below a certain point: https://www.autometer.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=switch+1%2F8%22+nptf#1&profile=products This could run your warning light while the sender runs your gauge. Hope this helps!Date published: 2018-05-21
Hello i have the cobalt series that mensures from 0-100 in the case of the oli press, and from 100 to 250 F in the case of the Walter temp one. I need to buy the sensors for both of them Would you help me please by sending me the part Number? Thank youHi Jaime, thank you for the question. If you have the Short Sweep Electric gauges, which the 100-250 range would be, you will need the 2242 sender for oil pressure and 2258 for water temperature.Date published: 2018-05-22
I purchased the oil sending unit and oil is seeping out the top of the sensor where the electric terminal is located. There is a large nut holding the terminal in place and a small one for the terminal wire. Is the unit bad or just an oil ring?Hi Al, thank you so much for contacting us. I'm sorry to hear you're having an issue with your sender. There is an internal seal under that piece which could be damaged by over-tightening, causing the sort of leak you describe. It's not something that can really be serviced, but I would encourage you to contact our tech support team at 866.248.6357 and we can see about getting it swapped out for you. Hope this helps!Date published: 2017-11-15
