Very short life span. Went through 3 in 7 years!
These senders seem very finicky. They don't last long under normal use and even shorter if it's a vehicle that doesn't get driven often (~3000 miles per year). I've gone through 3 sensors in 7 years, that just doesn't seem right.

Sending unit is inferior.
Sending unit failed within 3000 miles on an E85 87 Buick Grand National. Pegged at 100psi. Went through the troubleshooting process and it determined sending unit was not sending back the proper voltage to gauge. Actual fuel pressure at idle (40psi) was verified to be accurate with a mechanical gauge.

Sensor failed fast
1000 miles mounted to a turbo Honda motor and the sensor failed. Would not recommend.

QUESTIONS:
Is the 1/8" NPT threaded shank suppose to be tapered? I could not fully thread it into a 1/8" NPT threaded hole. Tried running a tap to clean up the threads on the hole and still doesn't thread in more than 3-4 threads into the hole.
This is common for any NPT thread. The threads eventually will seal causing you to not thread the sender in further.

What does the connector look like?
It would be the same connector for all pressure gauge harnesses but you can reference P/N: 5275 as it will show the connector plug.

Hi. What would you recommend putting on the sender threads to help seal them. Thanks
Thank you for your question. You can use any thread sealant or teflon tape you want with this sensor as it does not ground through the threads.

Hello, Do you have a voltage to pressure ratio? I have a programable management for my engine and I have to manually enter the pressure data in relation to the volt it receives from the sensor.
Thank you for your question. Our sensor specs, including the specs for this sensor #2246, can be found here: https://www.autometer.com/sensor_specs

I have a 2000 SC 281 Saleen. The oil pressure sender is bad. I cannot find a replacement. It is a 3 wire with a fuel shutoff with low pressure . Here is the info on the Sender Autometer 4590 0023 23 PSIG S/N 05294942519
Thank you for your question. We do not have anything in our system that uses that component number. I would recommend contacting our support team so they can get more details and help you identify what sensor you have. You can contact them at 866.248.6357 or https://www.autometer.com/contacts

Thank you for your question. I would recommend contacting our support team so they can help definitively identify the gauge you have and make sure you get the correct sending unit. You can contact them at 866.248.6357 or https://www.autometer.com/contacts
