SENSOR, TEMPERATURE, -40-300 °F, 1/8" NPTF MALE, REPLACEMENT, DIGITAL STEPPER is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from LS in TJ I bought this for an LS swap into a 2004 Jeep TJ wrangler. I bought this, the 5226, and the 2277. The temperature to resistance scale matches the Jeep factory sensor so it works with the factory Jeep computer to drive the instrument cluster. It is installed in the rear of the passenger side head of the LS where there is usually a factory installed plug.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sender replacement The guy in service replaced the sender and it worked perfect. It's already in the 90's here in Tucson AZ. things get real HOTreal quick. Here's a photo of where the replacement sender went.

Id like to get a trans temp reading to my Holley ECU & AutoMeter electrical temp gauge. Is it as simple as splicing the signal wire from this sensor to both devices? If the ecu can send the signal, Id rather not unless thats the only way, limited outputs.

Asked by: Big_John
Thank you for your question. It is not quite that simple. We would not recommend just splicing into the wire from the sending unit as you could skew the readings and you will need to know the cal. points before being able to splice into that signal properly. I would recommend contacting our support team for help with this. You can reach them at 866.248.6357 or https://www.autometer.com/contacts

What are the temperature/resistance values? I would like to use an existing sender.

Is it possible to shorten the length of the sensor to fit transfer case applications?

Asked by: Bill1996
Hi Bill, thank you so much for the question. This is a hollow brass sender with a thermistor inside and it cannot be shortened. You'd have to source an adapter to bring it out if you're experiencing internal clearance issues. Keep in mind this is our full sweep gauge sender. Our short sweep electric gauges have a shallow depth option in model number 2259: https://www.autometer.com/shallow-depth-electric-temperature-sender-250-300-and-340-deg.html However, these are not interchangeable.

What connector will mate with the 2252 sensor?

Asked by: Roberto
Hi Roberto, thank you so much for contacting us. This sensor uses the 5226 harness, which we source as a complete unit: https://www.autometer.com/wire-harness-full-sweep-electric-temperature-gauges.html Hope this helps!
