Questions

Can the ProLite 5334 be used with the 5312 Controller for shift light indication? I ask because the wiring diagram for the 5312 Controller shows a connection to shift lights but it looks like a molex-type connector while the 5334 only has two leads.

Asked by: Rockitdoc
Thank you for your question. Yes, you can use these two together. You can remove the connector. One wire is power and the other is ground, as long as you connect the positive from the 5312 to positive from the 5334, and then ground to ground from 5312 to 5334. As long as you match up those connections, it will work just fine.

How much current do these Shift Lights draw? Safe to power directly from a Holley Dominator ECU output (2 amp max), or would I need to use a relay?

Asked by: Jeff R
Thank you for your question. This shift light has a 1.4A draw.

Will this shift light work directly with a 5160 tach or will a 5312 controller also be needed

Asked by: KenD
Thank you for your question. Tach 5160 does not have a shift light output so you will need the 5312 shift light controller.

Can you tell me how I adjust it? Vince

Asked by: vincej
Thank you for your question. Shift light 5334 is simply a light in a tube and features no internal adjustments. This light will have to be attached to an rpm switch such as our part #5312 or a tachometer which is compatible with a shift light. If you have any further questions regarding the 5334 or your application, you can contact our tech support team here: https://www.autometer.com/contacts

Is this an LED light or a 12V incandescent light? Can the light bulb be changed? Thanks!

Asked by: Erik
Hi Erik. This shift light light features a bayonet style 1076 bulb. There may be replacement LED bulbs in the market that would work, but unfortunately, nothing we offer or have had any experience with. Our 5330 Quick Lite features an LED and our 5332 Super Lite features multiple LEDs in a cluster.

I need a a shift light that will wire into 2016 Dodge Challenger wirh a 3.6 V6. Is there one available? Thanks

Asked by: 6755Mike
Hi Mike, thank you so much for contacting us. Youd want to use an intelligent shift light that has the capability of reading and interpreting an RPM signal, such as one of our DPSS shift lights: https://www.autometer.com/black-dpss-tube-level-1.html Depending on the year, your Challenger will also probably require the use of a tach adapter like our 9117: https://www.autometer.com/tach-adapter.html If you've got questions on your specific application, I'd welcome you to contact our tech team at 866.248.6357, hitting the Chat link at the top of the page or emailing us here: https://www.autometer.com/resources/index/ask_a_question Hope this helps!
