Why is there a clear or maybe its a white boot on my Tach and Speedometer gauge if the bulb is a white light?

Can you provide dimensions for these boots? Are they intended mount into a hole in the gauge, or slip over the bulbs?
Hello! These are designed to fit a T3-1/4 size bulb like a 161, 168, 194. The boot itself is about 3/8” wide and ½” tall. They slip over the bulb.

Will this work on the back light of my monster tach?
Hi there, thank you for connecting with us. These will work on most tachometer bulbs that mount in the back of the tachometer. They will not fit the smaller twist in bulbs that you'll find in the front of many of our 5 inch tachometers.
