Behind the Scenes with Jeremy Lehrke
Jeremy Lehrke has been around racing since he was a child. His dad sold his show car to get a 1975 Chevy Vega Super Pro/Super Street that Jeremy started racing at sixteen years old. Jeremy eventually purchased a dragster and ran both cars for a while. After having more success in the dragster, he decided to sell the Vega in 2015. Since then, he has won the Division 5 Super Series Shootout Points Championship, the Midwest Drag Racers Association Sportsman Points Championship and several other super class and super pro wins.
Today, Jeremy and his wife, Carie, travel all over attending NHRA divisional and national events. In Denver, he also helped host over two hundred kids at the track that were on a summer camp field trip. He volunteered his time and car to show them how the car is supposed to work and explain a little about it so they had an idea of what they were seeing during the day.

In 2005, Rob Phillips was brought onto the set of Overhaulin' to complete a single wiring job. Little did he know at the time, but this was just the beginning of his future with the show. Rob was given the title of Project Manager for the 2005 through 2007 seasons. Once Overhaulin' ended (before it was brought back), Phillips decided to use his experience under Chip Foose and open his own shop in Long Beach, California. The high costs of living and build shops located on every corner made it hard for Phillips to expand his shop. This did not stop him from completing several builds that were showcased at SEMA from 2007-2010, including a 1970 El Camino, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Coupe and his own 1969 C10.
Graduating with a degree in Psychology and Social Behavior, Brandy Morrow Phillips started her career in the Automotive Aftermarket Industry with Spectre Performance in 2008. Brandy embarked on a new marketing program with the company, traveling across the country attending car shows to educate customers on new and current products. The program expanded in the Spring of 2009 as Brandy got behind the wheel of Spectre’s 1970 El Camino and hit the Goodguys Autocross in Nashville, Tennessee. The program continued throughout 2012 while Brandy raced several vehicles including a 1970 Mach 1 Mustang, a 1971 Camaro and the well-known 1970 Carbon Camaro.
In 2010, Rob and Brandy met at a Goodguys autocross event. While she raced the Spectre Performance 1970 Carbon Camaro, he took to the wheel of his 1969 C10. In 2013, Rob and Brandy settled down to start a family in addition to announcing the return of their Pro-Touring Performance Build Shop, better known as PCHRODS, INC. The company would launch their return to the automotive industry with the unveiling of their first build, the PCHRODS C10R, in the Spectre Performance Booth at SEMA 2013. This truck would not only revolutionize the pro-touring truck industry, but also the growth of their shop.
The popularity and success of the C10R grew the PCHRODS name into one of the most recognized pro-touring truck build shops across the country. As one of the pioneers of the pro-touring truck movement, Rob and Brandy continued to race their trucks at several pro-touring events including NMCA, SCCA, the Optima Series and the Goodguys Autocross Series. Before they knew it, the husband and wife team were receiving phone calls and emails regarding tips and techniques for those looking to build a pro-touring truck.
Today, Rob continues to improve the C10R, making it faster while continuing to get attention from others at the track. The truck's success also brought business beyond the truck demographic. Though PCHRODS remains a small build shop located in Orange County, California, Rob and Brandy are expanding their clientele beyond the pro-touring world to include various other automotive enthusiasts from high-end builds, motorsports, and expedition market.
Rob and Brandy Phillips are also actively involved in various other automotive initiatives outside the PCHRODS name. They continue to help grow their Automotivation Campaign, educating America's youth about career opportunities in the automotive industry. The couple also writes and provides photographs for various automotive magazines including Street Trucks Magazine, C10 Builders Guide and The Fastest Street Car Magazine.
Rob and Brandy are both brand ambassador for several automotive aftermarket companies including K&N/Spectre Performance, AutoMeter, Centerforce Clutches, Detroit Speed and Engineering, Currie Enterprises, BFGoodrich and several others.

Mark Frazier was first introduced to racing through BMX. At seventeen, he decided to quit that to make more time to help his brother at autocross events with his 1973 Chevy Camaro. After a few years, he caught the bug and was ready to go a little faster. He started drag racing at the age of twenty with a 1970 Z28 Camaro.
In 1986, Mark decided to sell his Camaro to buy his first home. He later found a 1966 Nova for dirt cheap and built that over the next six months. When he had sold the Camaro, he had put the stock motor and trans back in, so he swapped the other motor and trans into the Nova. He then started occasionally drag racing at Fremont Drag Strip. He turned a few cars during that time and back halved and built a roller cam 454 for the Nova, which ran in the nines. In 1995, he sold the Nova and finished building and restoring his citrus green 1970 Z28 Camaro. He showed that up into the 2000s.
In 2009, Mark started racing autocross at the GoodGuys shows. He began to open track with his 1971 Datsun 240Z that same year. The original build plan was for a cheap, fun daily driver, autocross, and track car. That is exactly what he did with it…until February 2014.
That February, Mark decided to enter the Optima Battery Ultimate Street Car Qualifier. He had previously done track support and chassis setup for his customers, where he first became familiar with the event. They were going to put an experienced driver in a customers’ car, but a week before the event, the driver had to bale. The owners asked Mark to drive and he ended up coming in second overall. That helped light the fire for him to do it in his car. He did well and was able to win his class and qualify for the finals in Las Vegas.
That set in motion the need for more power and grip, so he built flares for 315/35/18 tires. He also stroked the motor and put a bigger cam in it for more power. Then, he tuned and tested at Laguna Seca at a couple of track events. All the work done on the Datsun was completed by Mark and his friend, Mike Kamimoto. The car is still doing dual duty for autocross/track and street driving. It’s is the most enjoyable car he has ever built!
Mark’s daughter, Samantha, grew interested in cars from going with Mark to car events and occasionally taking his car out on the weekends. In 2015, she came to him and said she would like to buy and build a 240. So, they talked about how far she wanted to go with it and she said all the way! What kind of car dad would he be to not sign up for that?!
It has been a great experience for Mark and Sami. She is learning all the processes of building a custom car. She tore the car down, cataloged labeled and bagged the parts. They stripped the car, bent up a roll cage and she cut fitted all the floor plates and MIG welded them in. They drilled out body spot welds to replace or repair panels. She also did all the engine assembly with dad coaching! She has had a rendering done and is submitting proposals for partnership/ sponsorship and has acquired two so far with BASF and VintageAir. Mark has also worked in the automotive industry restoring cars for the past thirty-four years.
He hasn’t been competing as much the last three years because of work and building Samantha’s 240 on the weekends!

Growing up, Michael Williams’ mom and stepdad owned a 1970 C20 camper edition. They would take him camping throughout his childhood and eventually taught him to drive it at the age of thirteen. His stepdad would let him drive the truck on the trails when they went hunting or had to take a load to the dump. As he got older and got his license, he was allowed to drive the truck more and more. To this day, he has very fond memories of that truck.
In 2014, Michael bought a 1969 Chevy C10 to use as a cruiser. He wanted something to throw his surfboards in the back of and head to the beach. Then, that all changed.
Michael saw Brandy and Rob’s PCHRODS C10R online and fell in love with it. In 2015, he met them at a Goodguy’s event in Scottsdale, Arizona. Brandy took him for a ride-along during one of her heats and that’s all it took. He knew he had to make his truck do what the C10R could do.
Michael began racing his long-bed and loved seeing people’s reaction when he would outrun a short bed. He was not the fastest, but he was definitely not the slowest. After a few years, he made several more upgrades to keep up with the competition.
Every time he gets into his truck, he has nothing but good feelings and memories from his past and he looks forward to many years ahead.
