QUESTIONS:

Why the $38.00 cost difference between the 100 to 250 F gauge and the 140 to 280 F gauge?

Asked by: Colorado Cowboy
While most of our web prices are dynamic and based on the market, we usually don’t see differences this great between directly comparable instruments. It’s likely the more expensive model features either LED through-the-dial lighting or is mechanical. If those differences aren’t identifiable, please give us a call at 866-248-6356 or email us here with the specific models you’re referring to: https://www.autometer.com/contacts/

Hi Is it possible to get the transtemperatur gauge in Celsius degress? If not, is it possible, on my own responsability, to open the gauge and print a new background to replace the Farenheit scale?

Asked by: Carl B
Thank you for contacting us. This cannot be customized on the site but you can on Custom Shop, but unfortunately it is currently down.

Gauge in place for years with no issues. Recently gauge needle moves randomly and erratically. Seems to be in the general correct range(averaging out the erratic movements) Checked wiring end-to-end. Is there a millivolt test for the sender?

I have a trans temp gauge # 4357. The sending wire for the sensor on my oil pan has been cut a couple of times. Is the gauge still going to read accurate temps or was the wire critical length and type specific?

Asked by: Pandora
Thank you for your question. The wire length is not critical to the readings on this gauge. As long as the wiring has been soldered and the connections are secure, the gauge will still function just fine.

Does this gauge use volts to ground to determine temperature? What is the volt range? How many volts pass through the gauge when cold (100 Degrees)? How many volts pass through the gauge when hot (250 degrees)?

Asked by: ScottL
Thank you for your question. This gauge reads temperature via resistance from a sending unit. Voltage along the signal wire is not relevant to the temperature reading.
