In most cases, yes, your tachometer can be converted to magneto or Super Magneto or vice-versa. Our magneto signal converter however, (model 9118) will allow you to use most standard/electronic ignition tachometers on most external coil magnetos. Solid core wires produce excessive RF noise which can affect the tachometer reading. Keep tachometer and signal wiring as far away from the magneto and spark plug wires as possible. Provide shielding for them whenever possible.
