HOW DO I USE THIS TESTER?Hi Bennie, thank you so much for contacting us. The beauty of the SB-5 is it's simplicity. First, connect the positive and negative leads to the battery. You want to use the load knob to provide 1/2 of the battery's CCA rating for 15 seconds (the built in 15 second timer makes this very easy). Watch the voltmeter while you're loading the battery. If after that time the voltage reads under 9.6v (assuming 70 degrees ambient temp), the battery needs to be replaced. If it stays above that, the battery is good.Date published: 2018-03-28
