It enables you to capitalize on AutoMeter’s years of instrumentation and data acquisition expertise so you are in control and in-the-know about what is going on with your vehicle.  It turns your Apple (iOS) or Android enabled device into an advanced display and monitoring system. From monitoring vehicle and engine performance, to tracking fuel economy levels, reading and clearing vehicle trouble codes, to managing check engine lights, the AutoMeter DashLink puts you in control.

Harness the accuracy and precision of AutoMeter gauges in an advanced hardware and software package that provides instantaneous feedback to you about how your vehicle is performing. Customize the look and feel of your virtual dashboard with an easy to use interface. Determine exactly what you want to see and how you want it displayed with the DashLink app.

Data log what your vehicle is doing, determine: 0-60, ¼ mile, horsepower, and braking performance. Map where you vehicle has been, how it performed, and how many G’s you experienced with real time track mapping. Monitor your fuel economy/MPG, see how long your vehicle has idled, how many aggressive accelerations or braking events have occurred, and how your vehicle was driven. DASHLINK, OBDII DIGITAL GAUGES, APPLE iOS/ANDROID is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from I miss options for custom dashboards The product extracts an impressive amount of data from the car but I find it difficult to uae as I have to browse through many pages to find the information that I need - I hoped to have all information on display on an iPad for ready reference when driving but this is not possible It would be great if it was possible to build your own dashboard

Questions

Is the dash link compatible with a 2000 BMW 540i

Asked by: Bondo
Hi Bondo, thank you for contacting us. The DashLink is compatible with all OBD-II equipped vehicles, which became standard in the US in 1996, and EOBD, which became standard in Europe in 2001 for gasoline and 2004 for diesel vehicles. If your 2000 540i is equipped with either, the DashLink is compatible.

Can you Bluetooth to multiple devices if they all have the app?

Asked by: Wade dillow
Hi Wade, thank you for the question. You can have multiple vehicles set-up within the app and you can have multiple devices using the app and paired to a single DashLink Module. However, you cannot run two devices simultaneously connected to a single DashLink Module since the Bluetooth connection is peer to peer.

Would this dash link be useful on my 2002 Ram 2500 diesel 6 speed? What will the device read on my obd2 port that will make buying this worth it? Thanks

Asked by: Straight six
Thank you so much for contacting us. While "useful" is a pretty subjective term, DashLink does a ton of cool stuff and is indispensable for our team. From monitoring to diagnostics, it's a great package of features that we use daily. While every vehicle is different in terms of what's broadcast on the OBDII bus, these are the PIDs you'll see on every vehicle: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OBD-II_PIDs Hope this helps!

Is this compatible to work in a 1997 Jeep Cherokee XJ model, need of use is more for monitoring dash info like speed, tach, volts, oil pressure and water temp

Asked by: timmy7595
Hi Timmy, thank you so much for contacting us. Provided your vehicle has a functioning OBDII system, DashLink will work. It is worth mentioning that performance will be a little slower on older vehicles like that - computer technology in vehicles was still pretty rudimentary at that point. Buy yes, the device should be compatible. Hope this helps!

I have a 1997 Dodge diesel drive train and complete wire harness with the OBD2 plug. It now has a classic truck body wrapped around it all, what virtual guages can I expect to see with this dashlink unit.? Thanks

Asked by: Monaco Street Machines
All vehicles and set ups are different, you will have to see when you hook it up, I have a 2013 CTS-V with a 6.2L supercharged LSA and it doesn’t show oil pressure and some other gauges, some times it freezes, now not sure if mine is defective but when I asked why it wouldn’t pick up oil pressure I really didn’t get a good answer, you can customize gauges but you wouldn’t know if the will read until you hook up the dash link, hope this helps, it’s about same answers I got !

Is it ok to leave the OBD II connector to vehicle at all times, will it do damage, or should you disconnect it whenever you shut car off? Thanks

Asked by: Joe D
Sure. It will not damage your car in any way leaving the OBDII device in the slot all the time

I have a pro m computer system which incorporates the obd 2 system on my 1992 ford mustang and I was wondering if the dashlink would work on it

Asked by: Williamrday
Thank you so much for contacting us. While it would be tough to say for certain without actually testing on your vehicle, in my opinion it is very unlikely it would function. An OBDII system encompasses quite a bit more than just the engine computer. Sorry for the bad news.
