Description

AutoMeter’s remarkable DashControl™ utilizes your vehicle’s factory display(s) to provide performance information without modification. Available for certain vehicles with a Driver Information Center (DIC), DashControl™ plugs into the OBDII port and “hijacks” these displays, allowing you to monitor parameters from the vehicle’s data bus. Customize the display pages to display what you want, where you want it. Because there is no modification to any of the vehicle’s computer systems, it’s 100% warranty friendly and reversible simply by unplugging the device. It’s the easiest, most integrated solution for gauges yet, and takes only seconds to install.

DashControl™ offers customizable alerts as well. Water temp getting too hot or oil pressure dropping? DashControl™ can activate your factory warning chime and display an alert in the DIC at any value you set. Customization is incredibly easy using our intuitive configuration software. Better still, the system is expandable to add up to two additional analog inputs for parameters not monitored by your vehicle’s computer systems.

ADDITIONAL NOTES

Feature Points

  • Take control of your vehicle instruments to unlock hidden performance info!
  • Display missing data your vehicle computer already knows - AFR, boost, temps, pressures, HP/TQ and more!
  • Your data, the way you want to see it - fully customize layouts with free DashControl software!
  • Improve on factory performance alerts by programming on screen text messages for alarm points and combine with a trigger to activate the vehicle's audible chimes for a fine tuned display that's specific to your driver displays.
  • Add up to two additional analog sensor inputs for those couple additional engine parameters you may want to see that are not readily available on the factory CANbus network.
  • Great alternative to add-on instruments and displays, that won't affect the vehicle's interior appearance (or attract thieves) while keeping the driver's line of sight clear and dash space open. Ideal for 'sleeper' projects and track days!
  • 100% warranty friendly - Completely reversible by simply unplugging the module from the vehicle.
  • Supported Display Control: DIC, HUD

Reviews
DASHCONTROL OBDII DISPLAY CONTROLLER, SILVERADO/SIERRA DIESEL 2015-2016 is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good, But needs Improvement Product displays OBDII info as stated. The operation could use some refining though. Having to use my door lock button to scroll menus is not ideal and I can not use factory navigation anymore because this uses that screen to display gauge information which is unfortunate based on the price! I purchased an OBDII extension cable to hide this under the dash so the device and the auxiliary input wiring was hidden. I used the pyrometer setup that was suggested in the questions section. I had to figure out the formula myself to make it read the temperature though. There is very little documentation on this product, self learning will be key. Overall I am satisfied with this products ability to display readings in a clean manner without adding any physical gauges, but requires a bit extra to make it look professional.

Questions

Hello. I bought the dash control a couple years ago and have been waiting to see if there was a millivolt to volt converter for egt sensor for the 15 duramax. I see on the updated dash control it doesn’t mention anything about egt’s. Is there such a thing

Asked by: Eldon
Hi Eldon, thank you so much for contacting us. This device will allow you to hook a pyrometer probe to your DashControl unit: https://www.autometer.com/airdrive-0-2000-f-pyrometer-sensor-kit-optional.html It outputs a linear 0-5v signal in which 0 degrees F = 0v and 2000 degrees F = 5v. Hope this helps!

Hi will this work on 2017-2018 gm diesel hd trucks with the l5p motor? Thanks

Asked by: Benzacheko
Hi there, thank you for connecting with us. At this time we do not have a DashControl unit that is compatible with the 2017 and later GM models. Unfortunately, GM made a change in 2017 with the communication between the radio/navigation and the cluster and how the OBD-II pulls that data to display on the cluster. At this time we have no specific details on if or when we may have something for the 2017 and later models.

Will this work on the 2016 sierra 2500hd Denali? I know the Denali's have a bigger digital display vs the 4 mechanical gauges across the top of the cluster.

Asked by: ynotracing2221
Thank you for the question. As long as your truck is equipped with Navigation in the Driver Information Center it should work.
