Embedded Design Engineer

Description:
As an Embedded Design Electrical Engineer, you will work with a team of enthusiastic engineers who are passionate about producing high quality products that customers enjoy.  
Key responsibilities and scope of work include:
•    Create circuit designs, schematics, bill of materials, and circuit layout.
•    Develop embedded firmware on ARM Processors (primarily Cortex-M).
•    Develop serial and wireless communication protocols.
•    Create technical specifications from functional requirements.
•    Collaborate and take ownership with other developers to improve software and hardware quality.
•    Collect and process sensor data for use in instrumentation and control systems.
•    Lead application engineering effort from planning architecture to execution and delivery.
•    Design and implement scalable software architectures for hardware platforms.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
•    At least BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent (EE) degree. A Master's Degree is preferred.
•    10+ years of relevant work experience, which includes developing on embedded ARM systems, implementation/utilization of debug tools, use of software version control in a team.
•    Fluency in C/C++/Java and other object oriented programming languages.
•    Fluency in schematic capture software and PCB layout software.
•    Working knowledge of embedded software, operating systems, interrupt handling and communication drivers.
•    Experience with vehicle OBDII/CAN Technology.
•    Experience with embedded ARM RTOS (is a plus).
•    Experience with Linux/Windows programming (is a plus).

More about the position:
We are looking for a Hardware Engineer to join our team of enthusiastic engineers who are passionate about producing high quality products that customers enjoy. As a Hardware Engineer, you will take part in multiple hardware design projects in all aspects of the product development cycle: concept, design, development, implementation, support, and evolution of our products. Projects include (and not limited to): new product development of various display and instrumentation devices as well as sustaining and updating current product lines (e.g. DashLink, LCD Competition Dash).

Key responsibilities and scope of work include:
• Create circuit designs, schematics, bill of materials, and manage circuit board design using outside layout houses.
• Create technical specifications from functional requirements.
• Collaborate and take ownership with other developers to improve software and hardware quality.
• Collect and process sensor data for use in instrumentation and control systems.
• Lead application engineering effort from architecture to execution and delivery.
• Create internal drawings for draftsmen to work on.
• Create testing procedures and recommendations for the manufacturers. Interface analog & digital circuits to microcontroller I/O.

More about you:
• At least BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent (EE) degree. A Master's Degree is preferred.
• 3+ years of relevant work experience, which includes developing analog and digital circuits to microprocessors.
• Fluency in schematic capture software and PCB layout software.

• Design and implement scalable software architectures for hardware platforms.

Electronic Process Engineer

Responsibilities for Position includes:

  • Transition new products from engineering to manufacturing environment.
  • Develop appropriate test methods, procedures, fixtures and test systems to ensure new products meet their performance requirements.
  • Design electrical/electronic circuits for manufacturing test equipment and fixtures.
  • Be responsible for the design, implementation and documentation of electrical/electronic fixtures and devices to aid with the manufacturing process.
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing and cross-functional teams in problem solving, investigations, etc.
  • Work with document control managing schematics, drawings, Bills of Material, Engineering Change Orders, etc.
  • Participate in lean manufacturing Kaizen events.

Technical Support/Sales Agent

AutoMeter is looking for a Technical Support/Sales Agent to join our world class team. The ideal candidate will have a high degree of automotive technical aptitude including wiring, electronics, and diagnostic skills. The ideal candidate will be an automotive enthusiast and will be familiar with the unique challenges of providing highly engineered solutions to the Performance aftermarket. The ideal candidate should possess good interpersonal skills and interact well with a variety of personality types over the phone and in person. Candidates should be well organized and comfortable with MS Office. Candidates should possess good writing skills and basic PC knowledge. The ability to explain and troubleshoot more complex technical topics (grounding, wiring, sensors, etc.) in plain English is required. Being bi-lingual would be a real plus as a large portion of our customer base is Spanish speaking.

Responsibilities include:

Providing technical support and both pre and post sales technical and product advice to end user enthusiast via phone, email, and live web chat. This position will also interact with the public directly by providing technical support at key consumer and trade events

Providing event support (some travel required) at races, car shows, etc.

Providing direct-to-consumer sales.

Researching product installations on new vehicles and organizing and publishing this information to the AutoMeter Tech and Sales teams, Outside Sales, and Marketing teams. This can include product installations, on-vehicle testing, addressing FAQs, and developing how-to content for our websites.

Digital Content Developer

What Auto Meter Needs:

Auto Meter’s Digital Content Developer will be accountable for daily initiatives to drive traffic and customer engagement. You will work directly with our Content / Event Marketing Managers and will report to our Senior Manager – E-Commerce and Digital Marketing. You will establish an effective daily marketing content strategy that will utilize various online / social platforms. Your content will support product and feature releases, new vehicle support, enthusiast events, and really just about anything that may be of interest (or entertaining) to the Auto Meter community! Engagement and volume of content is king with this role. You will be an influencer extension of the Auto Meter brand.

What you have:

  • Passion for cars, life on the internet and digital technologies.
  • Experience with relevant social platforms and what type(s) of content is best to achieve platform specific goals. (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat).
  • Experience with relevant video platforms and platform that utilize static and live video. (YouTube, Facebook, Instagram).
  • Ability to craft messaging and utilize editorial in content creation. (Internal / External Blogs, Enthusiast Forums)
  • Phone / video / camera / editing skills – Photos, video and daily content creation is going to be your wheelhouse, you should know how to create that content from both a hardware and software perspective.
  • Finger on the pulse of social and digital work of our competitors and industry leaders to constantly stay at the forefront of content trends and topics.
  • Ability to help with direction of larger production level shoots which may include pre-production, planning, script writing, operating all video/audio equipment and lighting set-up.
  • Ensure quality, consistency and adherence to brand identity with all content produced.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
