Will this tach work on my 2001 Chevy Silverado 5.3 v8? and if so, what's needed to calibrate it?

Asked by: uletek
Thank you for the question. Yes, the 233911 is compatible with your truck. You should have a white wire, pin #10 of the red connector at the PCM. This actually produces a 2 pulse per rev signal that is more like a standard 4 cylinder, so the tachometer will have to be set for a 4 cylinder. It's possible this white wire will not be there in which case you will need a tach adapter, model 9117. Can the shift light be rotated or re-installed on the right side of the tach?

Asked by: Mopar Bill
Hi Bill, thank you for the question. Yes, the Shift Light on the 233911 is held onto the tachometer by the mounting strap, so it is remote mountable and can be rotated to another position on the tachometer.

How do you program this tach model# 233911 its does not have a recall button its got shift-set that's all

Asked by: Juice
Thank you so much for contacting us. You are correct, this unit does not have a recall function, only sift light. To program the shift light point, you'll want your key on but the engine off. Then you can manipulate the knob to move the needle to the RPM you want the light to come on at. Once that's done, simply start the vehicle. You can see the instructions here: https://www.autometer.com/media/manual/2650-1077.pdf Hope this helps!
