I have the Pathom tach and it is jump or a twitch at idle. I have the MSD 6AL and a MSD Tach Adapter. Its 1970 Chevelle 400 small block HEI distributorHi Vonnie, thank you so much for contacting us. A couple things. One, with an AutoMeter tach, you won't need to use an MSD tach adapter. The signal wire from the tach should go directly to the tach output on the MSD box. If it's got a little twitch to it at idle, it's commonly due to electrical/RF noise. In many cases you can very easily mitigate this by installing a 10k ohm resistor in line with the signal wire. does this have the dedicated shift light connecter to install a shift light without the rpm controller?Thank you so much for contacting us. This tachometer unfortunately does not have the ability to control a shift light. As a general rule of thumb, there will be a way to adjust the shift light settings on the front of the tach if it has that feature (either pushbuttons or a knob).
