Questions

Can this speedometer be connected to the front wheel

Asked by: Sieve
Hi Sieve, thank you so much for contacting us. Provided you have the proper cable, it won't make a difference if the speedometer is connected to the wheel, transmission or transfer case. You need a 5/8" - 18 threaded connection for the back of the speedometer and it's looking to see 1000 RPM at 60 MPH. Hope this helps!

will this work with a 1986 Chevy Monte Carlo SS?

Asked by: Jamal
Hi Jamal, thank you for the question. Yes, it will work, but it's not a direct "plug and play" or designed as a direct OE replacement. You will need a new cable that threads onto the speedometer (your factory cable pushes on to the speedometer) and if there are any calibration issues, these will need to be done at the transmission with the speedometer drive gear. While our electronic speedometer options will still not be a direct fit, they will require a sender, but offer a very simple calibration procedure.

If I understand this correctly, 3 3/8 is outside diameter of the bezel. My question is whats the diameter of the hole for installation, or the diameter of the body of the gauge? Thanks.

Asked by: Bill2480
Hi Bill, thank you so much for contacting us. Actually, the OD of the bezel is 3-13/16". The gauge itself is designed to fit in a 3-3/8" hole. Hope this help!
