I have had this tach for 10 years and suddenly it is reading 1000 RPM higher than normal. Also when off it doesn’t go to zero. It sits at 1000
Being 10 years old you may want to consider sending it in for evaluation. However, sitting at 1,000 when power is off is completely normal. Our tachometers have an “air-core” meter movement and the pointer floats freely and is electronically zeroed each time power is supplied.

This tachometer can be connected with a Hall effect sender?
Hi Sebastien, our tachometers require a 0-12V square wave. If the hall effect sensor is producing a square wave, that should trigger the tachometer.
