Hi, Does the 3-3/4" PEDESTAL TACHOMETER come with the cup and bracket and if so is the bracket the shock bracket?

Asked by: Bill
Hi Bill, thank you so much for the question. Yes, the 3780 Tachometer will include the cup and bracket and it is the shock strap model 3209 that is included.

Can this tach be used on a 4 or 6 cyl engine

Asked by: tacomike45
Hi Mike, thank you for the question. This tachometer will be set for a standard 4 pulse per rev 8 cylinder out of the box, but is selectable between a standard 2 pulse per rev 4 cylinder, and a 3 pulse per rev 6 cylinder.

are these water or I should say weather proof ? going on a hood of a expedition suv.

Asked by: pt45
Thank you so much for contacting us. Unfortunately, while this tach is built to be incredibly durable, it is not weather sealed and only recommended for use inside a vehicle. All of our automotive tachs are designed this way. If you want to put a tach on the hood, we could special build you one of our Pro Cycle tachs (which are weather sealed) calibrated for the V8 in your Expedition. Here's a link to check out: https://www.autometer.com/gauges/pro-cycle.html#1&profile=products If you'd like to proceed with one like that, please give our team a call at 866.248.6356 and we can walk you through the process. We are open M-F, 8am - 5pm CST. Hope this helps!

Hi I just asked a question about being able to change the bulb color on my Sport Comp 3780 would I be able to send my old tachometer back to you to have the bulb changed to green what kind of cost would this be

Asked by: Rumblrr
Thank you again for contacting us. On an older 3780, there is unfortunately not a way to change the bulb out for a green one, even at the factory. You can absolutely change it out on the current version. Sorry for the bad news.

I have an older 3780 with a white backlight how do I change this to a green light there is no way of getting to the light bulb I do not see a 1/4 turn bulb socket in the back.

Asked by: Rumblrr
Thank you so much for contacting us. Very old versions of the 3780 (we've made this particular tach for many years) were equipped with a "long life" bulb and were not user serviceable. The bulb itself was actually soldered onto the circuitboard, so it's not something that could be easily modified. The design has changed on the new versions which do utilize a serviceable light socket and a standard wedge base bulb (#168). I'm sorry for the bad news.
