When I shut off the engine, the needle does not return to zero. It will stop in between 2,000 and 2,500 RPM. Once I turn the key back to the ON position, the needle returns to zero. What could cause this? Recently I replaced the ignition switch.

Asked by: Bob S.
Bob, Our tachometers all do this, it is normal. The pointer will return to zero when power is reapplied. Thanks, Jim

Is there any way to mount this tach in the dash?

Asked by: Bama4x4
You can use the band strap as a way to mount the tachometer in dash. Please keep in mind that this is not a proper way to install the gauge but it has been done before.
