QUESTIONS:

What is the minimum size hole to fit the gauges through? I have 2" holes in my dash, will the gauges fit or do i have to make the hole 1/16" larger

Asked by: Steve1950
Hi Steve, not necessarily. Depending on the tolerance, you may get a tight or snug fit into a 2" hole. You may also only need to sand the hole out slightly.

About how long are the 12V, light, and ground wires on Ultra-Lite 4327 (oil), 4391 (volts), 4337 (water) and 4475 (tach)? I'm trying to locate a terminal block before receiving gauges. Thanks.

Asked by: Mike B.
On the smaller gauges the included sockets have 7 inches of wire for both the 12V and ground. The 4475 tachometer will include 1/4 inch spade terminals only, but no actual wire. You will need to provide the wire and female spade connections for the tachometer. We recommend 18 or 20 gauge. Complete harnesses like our 2198 will also include the wires and connectors.

At what temperature (F* )do i kno the vehicle is overheating

Asked by: Dreddy
Thank you for reaching out to us. Unfortunately, there is no way for us to know this since every vehicle and situation is different. Most vehicles generally run around 180-190 degrees, but that will vary based on many factors. Ultimately, you want to establish a baseline temperature and monitor from there.

does this gauge have spade connectors on the back or does it have eyelets? i bought the gauge harness kit but my current gauge uses eyelets?

Asked by: rusted70
Thank you for connecting with us. All AutoMeter short sweep electric gauges feature 1/4" spade terminals on the back. They are compatible with our 2198 harness as well as our 3298 connector. Many years ago the same model gauges didn't have the spade terminals, only the studs from the meter movement. If you have older gauges we would recommend reaching out to our Service Team at 866-248-6356 or email via this link: https://www.autometer.com/contacts

Do you have a video for the installation of the Ultra-Lite Water temp gage? Can it be put in the dash where the old one comes out?

Asked by: Jimbo64
Hi Jimbo, thank you for reaching out to us. Our gauges are not vehicle specific or designed as a direct OEM replacement. The 4337 mounts into a 2-1/16" diameter hole and can also be mounted in one of our various universal mounting solutions such as a mounting cup or panel.
