Can the 2-5/8" tach be mounted in a 2-5/8" gauge mounting panel?Thank you so much for contacting us. Unfortunately, the housing on this instrument is slightly larger than an in-dash gauge and would prevent it from being installed in a 2-5/8" gauge panel. Sorry for the bad news.Date published: 2018-02-19
Hello Will your 3708 and 3780 models work on a mopar electronic ignition distributor connected to an MSD6A box? If so, how do you connect the tach? ThanksHi Denis, thank you for connecting with us. Yes, our 3708 and 3780 Tachometers are compatible with your MSD box. For the signal you will want to connect to the tach output terminal on the MSD box.Date published: 2018-01-24
I have an old 3708 tach I want to use on a 6 cyl chevy. Wiring question - green to coil, red to 12 volts, black to ground, white to lite. Clip brown wire, leave orange loop connected. Does that sound right? Thanks DonThank you so much for contacting us. It sounds like you've got everything right on the wiring. The only caveat would be if you're using an MSD box (or similar) in your ignition system, you want to hook the green wire to the tach output on the box rather than the coil (the tach could be damaged otherwise). Hope this helps!Date published: 2017-12-15
CAN THE 2-5/8" SPORT COMP TACH BE MOUNTED IN DASH INSTEAD OF USING PEDESTAL MOUNTThank you so much for contacting us. While there are no provisions for mounting this tach in the dash, it can be accomplished with a little creativity. If there's room, you can sandwich the pedestal mount behind the dash panel to pressure fit it. We've also had good luck using a bit of weatherstripping and a band clamp to pressure fit them as well. There's no official instruction to do this as it isn't the intended use for the product, but it can be made to work.Date published: 2018-01-10
