Questions

What is the length and height of the two gauge console?

Asked by: Guitarman 387
Thank you for your question. The front of the 2392 two gauge console is 5-1/16" wide and 2-7/8" tall.

Will this coolant thermocoupler screw into a LS head to replace the electrical sensor? It’s size in the LS head is 12mm x 1.5. Thanks

Asked by: Thomas9867
Hi Thomas, thank you so much for contacting us. This temp gauge will not fit into an LS head without drilling and tapping it. You'd need to use a radiator hose adapter as mechanical gauges are much too large for such a small fitting: https://www.autometer.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=Radiator%20Hose&Trigger=ac#1&profile=products You can see a writeup on our preferred way to install gauges on an LS derived engine here: https://www.facebook.com/pg/AutoMeterProductsInc/photos/?tab=album&album_id=10150417363640587 Hope this helps!

Why can't I seem to find a two gauge console with a chrome mount, black gauge faces, and silver bezels? I have a 70 model Torino, and do not want a black console with white gauges, or a black console at all.

Asked by: Miguello
Hi Miguello, thank you for the question. The only chrome consoles we offer are in a 3-gauge configuration. A couple options would be model 2349 or 2399.

Hello, I know the gauges can be removed from the mount... But does that mean that they could be put into a pillar instead?

Asked by: thatoneguy
Hi there, thank you for the question. Our pods and pillar mounts are designed mainly for the AutoMeter gauges and not the AutoGage. The AutoGage are slightly wider in diameter and require a slight increase in the hole diameter on the pod.

Can the capillary tubing for water temp be removed or unscrewed from the back meter?

Asked by: Bcal
Thank you so much for contacting us. You cannot remove or cut the capillary tubing from a mechanical gauge. The gauge is manufactured and permanently sealed with an ether gas within the tube. If you are having installation limitations with a mechanical gauge, you may want to consider an electric gauge.

I see the kit comes with "10 ft. nylon tubing - 6 ft. Capillary Tube" I figured the 6 ft. Capillary Tube is for the water temp. What is the 10 ft. nylon tubing for, oil pressure? I was wondering if I needed to order product 3224 (copper tubing, 6ft) too.

Asked by: Bcal
Thank you so much for contacting us. The 6' capillary tube is indeed for the temperature gauge and is integrated into the instrument itself. The 10' nylon tubing is for oil pressure. The 3224 copper tubing kit is only designed to work with AutoMeter branded instruments and will not be compatible with the Auto Gage line, which uses different fittings. Hope this helps!
