came with no oil pressure sending unit
I have used Autometer gauges for a long time, and up till recently have been happy with them. However I ordered a 6927 Cobalt Digital oil pressure gauge and it came with wiring and a sending unit for water temperature and NOT oil pressure. What's the deal here. This is the second attempt to get a sending unit with this gauge from Sumit. They shipped me out a new gauge and it's missing the oil pressure sender just like the first one I got did. If this gauge does not come with the oil pressure sender then that information needs to be included with the information on the gauge with the correct part number so the buyer knows what's going on with this. What a hassel this has been and it could have all been avoided.

QUESTIONS:
I had a shop install my 2 1/16 Cobalt digital oil pressure gauge. There is a 0E on the screen what does this mean?
Hi Patch, thank you for contacting us. E0 would indicate a sender error. This could be caused by a sender issue, but more commonly it's caused by an insufficient sender ground. That sender must create a ground connection through the threads and an excessive amount of thread sealant can prevent that ground, causing the E0 error. If you have access to an ohmmeter or multimeter to measure resistance, you can also check the sender's resistance. Make sure to disconnect the gauge from the sender before testing, but the sender should read approximately 250 ohms without the engine running.

Can this gauge can be used with the OEM pressure sender for my 1988 Toyota Landcruiser?
Hi Jake, thank you for the question. While we have no information on your 1988 Landcruiser and what the sender resistance would be, it's extremely unlikely that our gauge would match up to it. The 6927 Oil Pressure uses a resistance based sender that has a general range of 250 ohms at 0 psi and 40 ohms at 100 psi.

Is there any way to buy just the gauge have the same set up now and the gauge is not working 100%
Thank you so much for contacting us. While we don't sell these gauges without their sending units, we do service everything that we sell, and for considerably less than what a typical replacement would cost. I would strongly recommend sending the gauge itself into our shop for inspection. You can use this form:

There is never any charge for diagnostic work and we'll contact you prior to performing any work that would cost you money. Hope this helps!

To whom it may concern. I bought this gauge but the sending unit that came with is too big . is there a smaller sending unit i can use for this same gauge??
Hi Izzy, thank you so much for contacting us. The sending unit included with this gauge is the only one that it is compatible with. In instances where you've got a tight fit, we typically remote mount the sending unit with a small length of braided line. If it's an issue of clearing a distributor, you can often times use an angled pipe fitting and/or an 1/8" NPT extension as well. Hope this helps!
