All contingency claims require products to be installed, functional, and to travel in the race vehicle during the race. Proper size and decal placement is essential. Some requirements will vary by sanctioning body, but the following definition of terms and guidelines should answer most questions.

Advertising Release
No special forms are required. By endorsing the check or product certificate, the signer authorizes the use of photos, name and other information in Auto Meter ads and catalog material.

Do not qualify for the race contingency awards in ANY sanctioning body.

Contingency Fraud
Making a false claim for contingency WILL result in losing contingency payments for up to 3 years. DO NOT CLAIM PRODUCTS YOU DO NOT HAVE ON THE CAR THAT IS RACING!

Decal Availability
Auto Meter supplies decals in the quantity to each sanctioning body. Decals can be obtained from the tech trailer at the race or Auto Meter will supply you before the race. Call Auto Meter Toll Free at 866-248-6356 or fax request to 815-895-6786.

Decal Placement
One decal on each side of the race vehicle for tachometer and gauges, and, or, one decal on each side of the race vehicle, for data acquisition, satisfies most postings. Decals must be applied as follows: left side decal is facing left, and right side decal is facing right (inside of a wing is not authorized) Display is required for the entire event, and must be applied prior to first round eliminations.

Decal Size
The contingency decal measures 3" x 9-1/8" and bear the words "Competition Instruments", or "Data Acquisition". These are the only decals that qualify for contingency. *The mini decal supplied with the gauges does not qualify for any posting.

Errors and Omissions
Claims for errors or omissions must be submitted in writing with photographic proof of product use and decal placement to the above address, attention Director of Motorsports, for consideration.

Late Payment
If you think we have missed a payment to you, please submit by fax, mail or e-mail all information including sanctioning body, race, dates and eliminator category. All effort will be made to track the missing award. All request must be made prior to February 1 of the following year as the records are archived at that time and are extremely difficult to access.

Postings
Check with your specific sanctioning body or track for a specific posting in your class, make sure you have all the proper products and decals for your claim. Dual postings require two decals, one for the Gauges and one for Data Acquisition. Data Acquisition products include Payback Boxes, Playback Tachs, and the Data Logger. Gauges would include an array of AUTO METER gauges.

Stacking
No stacking permitted. Each decal must be complete (NO TRIMMING ALLOWED) and unblocked by other decals. Painted reproductions require prior approval by Auto Meter's Director of Motorsports.

Tax Liability
The IRS requires racers to pay taxes on income. Cash award recipients will be sent a form W-9 prior to payment. This form must be completed and returned to Auto Meter with correct information for payment to be made in full. Forms not returned within 60 days will subject the award to a 31% withholding as required by law. A 1099 indicating the amount will be sent at the end of the year (copied to the IRS) and it will be the recipient's responsibility for proper reporting on their tax return. No refunds or withholdings can or will be made by Auto Meter.
